Dr. Guliz Ozgun is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia and a medical oncologist at BC Cancer – Vancouver Centre, with a clinical focus on genitourinary and gynecological malignancies.
Dr. Ozgun earned her medical degree from Ankara University in Turkey, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at Hacettepe University, Ankara. She further specialized in Medical Oncology at the Turkish Ministry of Health Ankara Training and Research Hospital. Driven by a strong interest in translational research, Dr. Ozgun moved to Canada to complete a two-year postdoctoral fellowship, where she utilized proteomic techniques to investigate circulating extracellular vesicles in patients with metastatic kidney cancer. She subsequently completed a 2.5-year clinical and research fellowship in Genitourinary Medical Oncology at BC Cancer – Vancouver and the UBC Division of Medical Oncology (2022–2025).
As a clinician investigator, Dr. Ozgun’s research is centered on biomarker development and clinical trials in genitourinary malignancies, aiming to advance personalized cancer care and improve patient outcomes.
