Dr. Zulfiqar received his Internal Medicine training at University of Michigan affiliated hospitals and subsequently completed Medical Oncology and Hematology combined program training program at University of Kansas Medical Center. He served in Faculty of Memorial University of Newfoundland and as a consultant medical oncologist with Eastern Cancer Care program for 7 years after moving to Canada.
Currently serving as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology at UBC with clinical work based in BC Cancer – Abbotsford as a medical oncologist where his main areas of cancer treatment and research are CNS malignancies and gastrointestinal cancer. His area of interest is stress management and resilience, physician wellness and empowering patients with tools to cope with the immense stress that comes during the journey of cancer treatment.
