Dr. Saroj Niraula is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia and a Medical Oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer at BC Cancer. Hailing from the Himalayan country of Nepal, his professional journey spans several countries, enriching his academic background and expertise. He completed a clinical research fellowship at the University of Toronto, where he also earned a graduate degree in clinical epidemiology and health care research. Dr. Niraula’s research focuses on drug regulatory science, clinical trials methodology, and cancer drug development.
He frequently appears as the lead and/or senior author in publications in international peer-reviewed journals, including high-impact journals such as the Journal of Clinical Oncology and JAMA Oncology, and has secured several peer-reviewed grants. Committed to addressing cancer care disparities at local, national, and international levels Dr. Niraula is actively involved in global oncology efforts worldwide. He has received merit awards from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). His humanitarian efforts have earned him prestigious recognitions, including being named one of the top 25 Canadian Immigrants and receiving the Manitoba future 40 below 40 honor.
