Dr. Jiti Gill is a medical oncologist at BC Cancer with a clinical practice specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies. She completed her medical degree and internal medicine training at Western University, followed by a hematology residency at McMaster University and a medical oncology residency at University of British Columbia.

Dr. Sharlene Gill is a Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a medical oncologist specializing in GI malignancies at BC Cancer – Vancouver. She received a BSc Pharmacy and an MD from the University of British Columbia in 1996 followed by residencies in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Dr. Gill subsequently completed a fellowship in Gl Oncology at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) and a Masters of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, MA). In 2017, she completed an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina. She is actively engaged in education and research, with over 120 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters to her credit. Dr. Gill serves as the Chair of the Canadian Clinical Trials Group (CCTG) GI Disease Site Committee, Chair of the UBC Department of Medicine Mentoring Committee and Chair of the BC Cancer Medical Advisory Committee. She is the President of the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists (2022-2024). Her TEDx talk in 2022 on ‘How to Flip the Script on Cancer’ delivered her passion for patient advocacy and empowerment.

Dr. Alina Gerrie is a hematologist and Assistant Professor in the Divisions of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a Clinician Investigator at the Centre for Lymphoid Cancer at BC Cancer, Vancouver Centre. She completed her medical degree and internal medicine residency at the University of Toronto, followed by hematology residency at UBC. She undertook a fellowship through the Royal College Clinical Investigator Program and earned a Master’s of Public Health degree from Harvard University, where her research included investigating the impact of genetic abnormalities on population-level outcomes in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients. Dr. Gerrie currently holds a Michael Smith Health Research Investigator Award and is involved in translational, clinical trial and outcomes-based research related to leukemia and lymphoma. Other academic interests include the investigation of novel therapeutics and cellular therapy for CLL and lymphoma.

Dr. Chi is a medical oncologist and the Chief Medical Officer of BC Cancer, which provides a comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British Columbia (BC), in Canada. He is also a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University, and the Shrum Chair in Prostate Cancer Research at BC Cancer.
Dr. Chi’s research in the field of genitourinary cancers focuses on prostate cancer and investigational new drugs, where he has contributed to changing international standards of care practice for patients with advanced prostate cancer. He also has been investigating circulating tumour DNA as a source of prognostic and predictive biomarkers for patients with metastatic prostate cancer. Dr. Chi is the past-Chair of the Genitourinary Disease and Investigational New Drugs Site Committees with the Canadian Cancer Trials Group, and has held peer-reviewed grant funding from the Canada Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC)/Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), the US Department of Defence, Movember, Prostate Cancer Foundation (USA), and Prostate Cancer Canada.
Dr. Chi is an author on over 280 articles in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology, Lancet Oncology, Cancer Discovery, Nature, and the New England Journal of Medicine.

Jonathan Loree is a medical oncologist at BC Cancer and Senior Investigator at CCTG with an interest in GI malignancies. He completed his medical oncology fellowship at BC Cancer and subsequently undertook a translational research fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center where he completed a Master’s of Science before returning to British Columbia. His research focus is translational research and biomarker development in colorectal cancer and neuroendocrine neoplasms.

Dr. Chia is a Full Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology, Head of the Division of Medical Oncology, UBC and a staff medical oncologist with the BC Cancer, Vancouver Cancer Centre. He has a full-time clinical practice focusing on breast cancer and in new drug development. He is the Chair of the BC Cancer Breast Tumour Group and Head of the Department of Clinical Research. He is also the Co-Chair of the Breast Disease Site for Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG).
Dr. Chia is recognized both nationally and internationally for his research work on breast cancer. His focus is on clinical trials and translational research. He has published over 180 peer-reviewed papers. His publications appear in international peer-reviewed journals including high-impact journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Lancet, Cell, JAMA Oncology, and Nature and Nature Medicine. Dr. Chia has been a Subject Editor for British Journal of Cancer and The Oncologist, and is the current section author for UpToDate™ in the Prognostic/ Predictive Markers Section. He holds numerous peer reviewed grants.
